Jaime Karbowiak

Jaime Karbowiak became the Roslyn Landmark Society’s Executive Director in November 2023. An experienced museum professional with over ten years of experience, Jaime possesses extensive knowledge about preserving historical resources. She has a deep understanding of research methodology and interpretation and a passion for museum education, curation, and working with historical collections.

Jaime is currently a doctoral student working towards her Ph.D. in World History, with a concentration in Museum Administration, at St. John’s University. She also holds a Master of Arts degree in History and an Advanced Graduate Certificate in Archives and Records Management from Long Island University. She is a Certified Archivist, Certified Records Analyst, Digital Archives Specialist, and serves as a New York Archives Conference Board Trustee.

Prior to joining the Roslyn Landmark Society, Jaime worked in a variety of capacities in the museum field and possesses a wide range of experience. She has held positions in museum administration, archives, and collections management at the Long Island Maritime Museum, East Hampton Historical Society, Westhampton Beach Historical Society, and Suffolk County Historical Society Museum.

Additionally, she served as Senior Archivist for Long Island University’s “Robert Moses Collection Project,” a public-private partnership between Long Island University, New York State Archives, and New York State Parks, Recreation & Historic Preservation funded by the Robert David Lion Gardiner Foundation.

I am also looking forward to getting to know the Roslyn community and celebrating its unique history and culture.”
